It sounds tasty!

http://www.sporkorfoon.com/spork_or_a_foon/page/2/Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16355240676514835266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6882957900081933460.post-40964866391546724552009-07-03T03:08:27.534+12:002009-07-03T03:08:27.534+12:00When something like a store or restaurant is close...When something like a store or restaurant is closed, I totally see that as a sign too... ah the life of a frugal post student :)

Great job on the bread pudding. How ...OK, I'm LOVING your comments, as always. How I've missed you, both on my blog and yours!

I thought I might have missed the hot cross buns that you were referring to, but no, here they are! This is genius, even if I don't know much about HCB's. Americans think that HCB's are akin to unicorns -something that only exist in fairy tales or nursery rhymes. Seriously, or maybe just this American {me}. I had never seen one in real life until moving on down here. They are so strange! And do they call rolls over there breadrolls! So funny! Okay, and while we're on the subject, I also don't know what bread and butter pudding is...

Sorry about the scones, they sound really good and well worth another try. LOL about 'trying for a scone' and in the same breath sorry for my texting language. What can communicate it better than the good old lol?, despite how much I hate using it.Natalie Quehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01453065317873829264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6882957900081933460.post-3433948807211263822009-07-02T22:07:01.176+12:002009-07-02T22:07:01.176+12:00Mum: Glad to hear! Mutton is, I guess, not as cool as lamb since it's the meat off old sheep. I do prefer the taste of lamb but mutton is pretty yum.

Fearless Kitchen: Thanks! Good luck on the mutton hunt - it's worth a try! If it's any consolation there's a lot of American foods that are nigh on impossible to find here.

Marc: I guess you could describe it as gamey. It's a stronger, richer taste than lamb. Your pudding sounds incredible!

Hayley: I hope I get those damn scones too! Time's running out!hungryandfrozenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01077401868108124070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6882957900081933460.post-74436519886545688052009-07-02T12:42:58.803+12:002009-07-02T12:42:58.803+12:00Haha! We recently got a new bedframe that doesn't stick out so much and I am enjoying the lack of bruised thighs now!

I laughed out loud at the thought of your burnt hot-cross buns being burnt offerings! You are just too hilarious. That was a great idea to make them into a bread & butter pudding, sounds like it was awesome. Awesome enough for me to want to try it, even though I've never found a bread & butter pudding that I liked. Yours inspires me. I like your movie to hot-cross bun comparisson. Too funny.

I've never had mutton, and never seen it in the shops here either, but I might have just not looked for it before. Your mutton dish sounds very satisfying.

Hope you get your scones before you move!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6882957900081933460.post-83482863512476895742009-06-30T15:31:14.227+12:002009-06-30T15:31:14.227+12:00I'm not sure that I've ever had mutton bef...I'm not sure that I've ever had mutton before. Is it more gamey than lamb? It does looks tender and delicious in your photo though.

Nice job on recycling the buns. I detest wasting food, so I always try to make something out of failures too. I once had a chocolate cake that failed to rise for the occasion, but it made one heck of a bread pudding with some help from from eggs, cream and cinnamon.Marc @ NoRecipeshttp://www.norecipes.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6882957900081933460.post-26909014473959718042009-06-30T02:07:36.719+12:002009-06-30T02:07:36.719+12:00The bread and butter pudding was a great way to us...The bread and butter pudding was a great way to use up those buns! I've got one hope of finding it at the halal butchers in the bowels of Boston, but otherwise it's all lamb here.Fearless Kitchenhttp://www.fearlesskitchen.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6882957900081933460.post-34346868544428720622009-06-29T09:48:03.609+12:002009-06-29T09:48:03.609+12:00I loved reading this, great post! the food all loo...I loved reading this, great post! the food all looks fantastic, the hot cross bun pudding especially, yum!

I'm surprised mutton isn't fashionable in New Zealand of all places, I've heard there are more sheep than people! it's making a comeback in restaurants over here in the UK.Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04554151962924841103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6882957900081933460.post-49804150755140149252009-06-29T08:56:36.302+12:002009-06-29T08:56:36.302+12:00Laughed so much it hurt (literally - I have the fl...Laughed so much it hurt (literally - I have the flu and everything hurts). Starting off with poor Tim's bruising. The mutton and b and b pudding look delish - can almost smell them, but I haven't eaten since Friday and am still not yet tempted.Sigh!kaynoreply@blogger.com
